We run two squads 'within' our B squad - Intermediate B Squad and Junior B Squad. In some sessions these swim together, with other sessions shared with C or A squads where necessary. The two groups have slightly different criteria, one as a stepping stone up from C squad, the other as a stepping stone towards A squad. There are formal criteria for movement between Intermediate and Junior B squads Intermediate B squad Swimmers shall not be older than 15 years of age. They shall be expected to maintain a minimum attendance level of 50% of available sessions, and to compete in galas as directed by the coaching team. Swimmers should make themselves available for selection for our team for league galas. Progression from C squad to Intermediate B squad In addition to assessment using the Swimmer Profile, swimmers must complete the Freestyle and Individual Medley test sets in order to progress to Intermediate B squad

At test sessions, an extra judge will assess correct performance of strokes and turns.

Ideally, swimmers should also have completed their Competitive Start Award before progressing to Intermediate B squad, subject to the award having been available to them. Junior B squad Swimmers shall not be older than 15 years of age. They will be expected to maintain a minimum attendance level of 75% of available sessions (including land training sessions) and to compete in galas as directed by the coaching team. They should now be competing regularly in all four strokes and individual medley. Swimmers should make themselves available for selection for our team for league galas. Progression from Intermediate B to Junior B squad In addition to assessment using the Swimmer Profile, swimmers must complete the Freestyle and Individual Medley test sets in order to progress to Junior B squad

The monthly fee for Junior B squad is £40 per month. This reduces to £34 if there is a brother or sister in A or Junior B squads.

The monthly fee for Intermediate B squad is £32 per month. This reduces to £27 if there is a brother or sister in the same squad or a higher squad (excluding Junior Masters)
