Log Books
On joining the club, each swimmers shall be provided with a log book and shall be instructed on its use by a member of the coaching team. The log book will include information on :-

  • Goals
  • Training Sessions
  • Competition results and performance
  • Nutrition
  • Warm up and swim down
  • Entering galas
  • Squad progression and expectations
  • Club administration
Swimmer Profile Pack On a six monthly basis, the coaching team will provide a Swimmer Profile pack for each swimmer, which will evaluate their current performance. The profile will contain :

  • Attendance details
  • Competition data
  • Training performance :
  • Do they have a good attitude?
  • Do they bring the necessary equipment?
  • Do they lead the lane?
  • Can they keep up the repeat times?
  • Do they perform starts, turns and finishes with good technique, appropriate to their level?
  • What are the main technique points for the swimmer?
Review Meetings A member of the coaching team will meet with each swimmer to discuss their Swimmer Profile, and a copy will be provided to the swimmer to be kept in their log book. The swimmer should bring their log book to this meeting so that the preceding months of training and competition can be evaluated, and goals can be agreed going forward. All decisions regarding progression will be made by the coaching team, based on the published criteria and with reference to this Swimmer Profile.
